After 183 years such a devastating cyclone named
Amphan hit the land of West Bengal, India on 20th May 2020. It was so
devastating that 72 lives had been lost and tremendous loss of properties
around the cost of Rs. 24,000 crore was happened due to it. The most affected
areas are Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, East and West Midnapore and North and South
24 Parganas of West Bengal. It also affected the coastland of Odisha. The
storm was so horrible that thousands of mud houses had been destroyed and
electric posts bend down due to the Powerful blow of the storm. Water supply and
electricity, network system, communication system - all had been disrupted.
Mainly the sight of Kolkata, Howrah and Hooghly is horrible after this. About
40 NDRF (national disaster relief force) were deployed in West Bengal for the
rescue operation along with local people.
A package of
rupees thousand crore was allotted by the Prime Minister and the state
government distributed 50 lakh pouches of water and also the chief minister of
West Bengal announced to give rupees 20000 to the families who have lost their
home and amount of rupees 5 lakh to the casualties. In this foul condition of
corona-virus, this super cyclone scattered west Bengal. It would take a minimum of about
