What is a tribe?

A tribe is an Indian group that possesses certain qualities and characteristics that make it a unique cultural, social, and political entity.

A tribe could be a social division in a conventional society comprising of families connected by social, financial, devout, or blood ties, with a common culture and tongue. A tribe has certain qualities and characteristics that make it a one of a kind social, social, and political entity. Tribes are too known by the title ‘Adivasis’ in India.

উপজাতি কি?

একটি উপজাতি হল একটি ভারতীয় গোষ্ঠী যার কিছু গুণাবলী এবং বৈশিষ্ট্য রয়েছে যা এটিকে একটি অনন্য সাংস্কৃতিক, সামাজিক এবং রাজনৈতিক সত্তাতে পরিণত করে।

উপজাতি এমন জনগোষ্ঠীগুলোকে বুঝায় যারা আলাদা রাষ্ট্র গঠন করতে পারেনি কিন্তু নিজস্ব একটি আলাদা সংস্কৃতি গড়ে তুলেতে সমর্থ হয়েছে। মূলত‍ঃ রাষ্ট্রের সাথে সম্পর্কের ভিত্তিতে জাতি বা উপজাতি নির্দিষ্টকরণ হয়ে থাকে।

Tribes in India

The Constitution of India has recognized tribal communities in India under ‘Schedule 5’ of the constitution. Subsequently, the tribes recognized by the Constitution are known as ‘Scheduled Tribes’.

The entire Scheduled Tribes population, as per the 2001 Census, is 84,326,240, speaking to 8.2 per cent of the whole nation populace. The extent of the tenants of the Scheduled Tribe in metropolitan districts is only a little 2.4%.

ভারতের সংবিধান সংবিধানের 'তফসিল 5' এর অধীনে ভারতের উপজাতীয় সম্প্রদায়গুলিকে স্বীকৃতি দিয়েছে। পরবর্তীকালে, সংবিধান দ্বারা স্বীকৃত উপজাতিগুলি 'তফসিলি উপজাতি' নামে পরিচিত।

2001 সালের আদমশুমারি অনুসারে সমগ্র তপশিলি উপজাতির জনসংখ্যা 84,326,240, যা সমগ্র জাতির জনসংখ্যার 8.2 শতাংশের সাথে কথা বলে। মেট্রোপলিটন জেলায় তফসিলি উপজাতির ভাড়াটেদের মাত্র মাত্র সামান্য 2,4%।
