Higher Secondary Writing Skills Suggestions

WBCHSE Published the Higher Secondary Routine 2022, according to this routine English (Second Language) Examination will be held on 4th April 2022. The examination will start at 10:00 am and continue up to 01:15 pm. Total marks for HS English Subject is 100, out of which 80 marks for written examination and 20 marks for the project work. Every section has extra optional questions.

Why do we need a suggestion?

We ask for suggestions because we think that someone who has more information about the topic or any subject can give us some best solutions. From my 12 years experience I can say that in the case of writing skills, suggestions cannot do much profit to the students. Rather they should practice grammar rules and write from the very beginning. A student should practise it throughout the years. Still, suggestions on writing skills for Madhyamik and H.S exams can help the students obviously. From my 12 years of experience, I can provide the best suggestion on writing skills for H.S Exam. Here it is below which will definitely help you, students. Follow this suggestion and plan yourself so that you simply can perform better in Examination Hall.

কেন আমরা একটি সাজেসানের প্রয়োজন বোধ করি?

আমরা পরামর্শ জিজ্ঞাসা করি কারণ আমরা মনে করি যে যার কাছে কোনো বিষয় সম্পর্কে অনেক তথ্য ও জ্ঞান আছে তিনি আমাদের কিছু সেরা সমাধান দিতে পারেন। আমার 12 বছরের অভিজ্ঞতা থেকে আমি বলতে পারি যে লেখার দক্ষতার ক্ষেত্রে, সাজেশন শিক্ষার্থীদের খুব একটা লাভ করতে পারে না। বরং তাদের উচিত প্রথম থেকেই ব্যাকরণের নিয়ম ও লেখার চর্চা করা। একজন শিক্ষার্থীকে সারা বছর ধরে এটির অনুশীলন করা উচিত। তবে মাধ্যমিক এবং H.S পরীক্ষার জন্য লেখার দক্ষতার বিষয়ে পরামর্শগুলি স্পষ্টতই শিক্ষার্থীদের সাহায্য করতে পারে। আমার 12 বছরের অভিজ্ঞতা থেকে আমি H.S পরীক্ষার জন্য লেখার দক্ষতার সেরা পরামর্শ দিতে পারি। এখানে এটি নীচে রয়েছে যা অবশ্যই শিক্ষার্থীদের সাহায্য করবে। এই পরামর্শটি অনুসরণ করো এবং নিজে পরিকল্পনা করে পরীক্ষার হলে আরও ভাল করতে পারা সম্ভব।

প্রিয় ছাত্র ছাত্রী উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষায় ইংরেজিতে 10 নম্বরের রাইটিং আসে। এই 10 নম্বরের জন্য তিনটি বিকল্প থাকবে। যেগুলি হল –

1. Report Writing (10 নম্বরের)

2. Letter Writing (10 নম্বরের)

3. Precis Writing (10 নম্বরের)

Letter Writing Suggestion:

Editorial Letter:

1. About cyber crimes and how children and young adults are affected by them.

2. About the indiscriminate felling of trees.

3. About the use of plastic bags.

4. Accidents on Roads for Talking Over Mobile Phones.

5. Reckless Driving.

6. Anti-Social Activities in your locality.

7. Against the wastage of potable/ drinking water.

8. High Price of essential goods.

9. About the harm caused to young minds due to excessive depiction of violence and crime on T.V.

10. Lack of Covid-19 Awareness among the public.

11. About the disturbances caused by the thoughtless use of loudspeakers.

Letters to the Bank Manager:

1. For opening a Savings bank account.

2. For closing bank account.

3. For Educational Loans.

4. For changing your address.

5. For asking cheque book.

Letters to the Headmaster / Headmistress:

1. Asking leave application

2. Arranging extra classes after test exams due to a long vacation for Covid.

Other Official Letters:

1. Write a letter to the Postmaster complaining about the delay in the delivery of a very urgent letter addressed to you, due to negligence of the postman.

2. Suppose you have lost your bicycle and write a letter to the Officer-in-Charge of your local police station reporting the loss.

3. Write a letter to the chairman of your municipality complaining about the unsanitary condition of your locality.

Précis Writing

A précis is a brilliantly summary of a long passage. Précis Composing aims at testing your understanding of the passage. As Précis Composing could be a summary, it is always shorter than the initial passage. Précis Composing expresses only the main theme as concisely as possible.

একটি Précis একটি দীর্ঘ প্যাসেজের একটি বুদ্ধিমান সারাংশ. Précis লেখার উদ্দেশ্য হল প্যাসেজ সম্পর্কে তোমার বোঝার পরীক্ষা করা। যেহেতু প্রিসিস রাইটিং একটি সারাংশ, এটি সর্বদা মূল প্যাসেজের চেয়ে ছোট হয়। যথাসম্ভব সংক্ষিপ্তভাবে শুধুমাত্র মূল থিম প্রকাশ করে।

DOs of Précis Writing

1. Study the passage carefully; more than once in case needed.

2. Make a note of the vital points.

3. Make at least two drafts—a rough one and a fair one.

4. The rough draft has the substance of the initial passage.

5. The fair draft could be a great summary of the main points from the rough draft.

DON’Ts of Précis Writing

1. Express your own opinion.

2. Use a question within the précis.

3. Use abbreviations or contractions.
